Am I interpreting the (unzoomed) last chart correctly? It looks like COVID hit, drilling stopped, then slowly the rig count grew once again to finish all the DUCs... but they didn't drill any significant number of *new* wells.

Correct. During COVID, drilling came to a halt. DUC's were fracked to bring some new production online faster in the period following COVID.

It appears we're at the level where the remaining DUC's will never produce. Sometimes they're drilled in the wrong place or the economics of the well just don't work at current prices.

Hey Tim. no asterisk by your subtitle, Wind of Change? To send readers to the bottom

of your email for the Scorpions reference. Oh, that's right, "what for an asterisk, the

reader will catch it anyway." Wrong again. And what about using italics for a song

title? I appreciate your effort,

Dr. Wah

Thank you for the suggestion. Grammatically speaking, italics or quotations are either acceptable for song title.

The titles of my weekly update are usually a pop culture reference; often a song title, lyric or movie quote. let the reader see if they find the relevance. I've received mixed feedback. I plan to continue the practice, as charts alone can be a little dry.
